Pub Structural Repair in Polegate

When a vehicle hits a pub, two things need sorting fast. The structure has to be made safe, and the pub needs to keep trading.
On an older building, the repair also has to match what was there before.

A van left the road and hit a historic pub in Polegate. It took out a section of wall, a window, and most of the outdoor seating area.
The damage was substantial, and on a building this old there was no quick fix.

The first job was making the structure safe. We propped the opening, boarded it up inside and out, and secured the area with Heras fencing. We installed a temporary ramp so staff and customers could get in and out safely, and the pub continued trading for the duration of the works.

Then we cleared the debris and started reconstruction. The original stonework was beautiful, so we used reclaimed stone and traditional construction methods. The external masonry needed a lime mortar mix to match what was there before.

The team took great care with this one, and the pub looks just as it did before the crash.
