Structural Repair at a Pub, Surrey
Old stone walls don't come with a standard repair manual. When a Surrey hotel asked us to restore a damaged boundary wall, the priority was to fix it properly and make sure it still looked like it had always been there.
The wall had a distinctive hit-and-miss coping design and cavity construction with a stonework and brick outer skin. Not something you patch with a bag of ready-mix and hope for the best.
We rebuilt the damaged sections using the existing materials wherever possible, keeping the character of the wall intact. We removed the vegetation and root growth (often the hidden cause of this kind of structural damage) to prevent the problem from returning. Retrofit
stainless steel ties were installed to reinforce the structure from within, and the coping was carefully restored to match the original design.
Specialist mortar mixes finished the job, chosen for durability and compatibility with the existing stonework.
The wall looks as it should. Solid, restored, and built to last.
